A 1,679-TEU 18-year-old Korean-built gearless containership, the AS Savonia, has been sold for just US$3.6 million, indicating that prices for aging small box ships are dropping further into a chasm.
"This sets a low benchmark for the type; with one or two similar units in the market, this will not be welcome news for said sellers," Braemar ACM observed in its latest container weekly report, reported Splash 247.
