HONG Kong International Airport (HKIA) saw cargo and airmail throughput decrease by 2 per cent over prior year in November to 466,000 tonnes.
The world's number one cargo hub by volume, handling 5 million tonnes of cargo and mail in 2017, reported a 3 per cent drop in imports and a 4 per cent fall in exports last month.
An HKIA spokesperson said: "Among the key trading regions, traffic to and from Europe and mainland China decreased the most during November. Transshipments, however, recorded moderate growth of 3 per cent."
Over the first 11 months of 2018, HKIA handled 4.7 million tonnes of cargo and airmail, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.2 per cent.
On a rolling 12-month basis, HKIA said that cargo and airmail throughput increased by 2.5 per cent to 5.1 million tonnes, reports London's Air Cargo News.
