Asia-Europe rate up 1.1pc to US$658/TEU, but rate to USWC remains flat

SPOT rates from China to North Europe increased 1.1 per cent on Thursday from the previous Friday to US$658 TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
With last Friday being a public holiday in China, Asia-Mediterranean trade fell 1.9 per cent to $711 TEU compared to the previous Friday, London's Loadstar reported.
The rate from Asia to US west coast remained flat at $1,623 per FEU while the rate to the east coast increased 12.2 per cent to $2,644 per FEU.
