ONE lauded for vessel speed reduction in USWC

OCEAN Network Express (ONE) has won the silver and bronze awards for the 2018 Vessel Speed Reduction Incentive Programme in the Santa Barbara Channel and San Francisco Bay areas.
The Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies partners completed the analysis of ONE's fleet's Automatic Information System (AIS) data for the 2018 Vessel Speed Reduction (VSR) Incentive Programme season, running between July 1 and November 15, 2018.
"Each partnering company was evaluated for cooperation with the request that vessels transit at 10 knots or less through the VSR zones in the Santa Barbara Channel Region and San Francisco Bay Area, according to a ONE statement.
ONE received the bronze award for its efforts in the Santa Barbara Channel Region while the shipping line was given the silver award for its speed reduction in the San Francisco Bay Area.
