THE Liberian-flagged 1,574-TEU Calisto veered off fairway and collided with embankment or pier on Elbe at Brunsbuettel near the western entrance to the Kiel Canal.
The 18-year-old ship was en route from Hamburg to Gdynia. It sustained damages to an unknown extent and brought to anchor, reported Kiev's Maritime Bulletin, which specialises in marine casualties.
