CMA CGM extends charter period of Global Ship Lease's 8,063-TEUer

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has extended its charter of the 8,063-TEU GSL Tianjin, a 2005-built vessel with charter owner Global Ship Lease Inc.
The vessel will be chartered for a period of eight to 12 months at a fixed daily rate of US$11,900. The charter extension will commence immediately after the current charter lease expires on January 26.
Said Global Ship Lease CEO Ian Webber: "We look forward to maintaining our strong relationship with CMA CGM, our largest shareholder and the third largest liner company in the world, and to benefiting over time from the improving long-term fundamentals for mid-sized and smaller containerships."
