Asia-Europe rate off 3.9pc to US$716/TEU, USWC off 2.4pc to $1,382/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 3.9 per cent to US$716 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean run fell 1.3 per cent to $731 per TEU, according to theShanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The SCFI recorded a 2.4 per cent fall for both US east and west coasts woth west coast rates falling to $1,382 per FEU while China-US east coast rates slipped to $1,382 per FEU.
