CMA CGM levies US$200/TEU Asia-S Africa rate hike August 1

FRENCH shipping container liner CMA CGM is implementing a rate restoration programme next month "in a continued effort to provide customers with reliable and efficient service" on its Asia to South Africa trade.
Effective from August 1, (B/L date), the general rate restoration (GRR) for all types of cargo (dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) transported from Asia including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia to all ports in South Africa will be US$200 per TEU.
