Philadelphia docks its biggest ship ever - 11,000-TEU MSC Avni

THE Port of Philadelphia has docked the 11,000-TEU MSC Avni, the biggest ship ever to call or sail up the Delaware River.
With the 103-mile deepening of the Delaware River navigation channel to 45 feet from 40 feet nearly completed, bigger ships are coming to Philadelphia through the expanded Panama Canal.
Philadelphia recently announced that it will receive two super postpanamax gantry cranes from Shanghai, as large as any in the world, next month, reported London's Port Technology International.
