Hamburg Sud drops Jacksonville call from USEC-Venezuela service

HAMBURG Sud has stopped calling at the port of Jacksonville on its US east coast-Aruba-Bonaire-Curacao and Venezuela service, a move motivated by a drop in demand in Venezuela.
The last vessel to call at Jacksonville will be the Ipanema, voyage number 174 ETS, on February 15.
The carrier's intermodal cargo that previously moved via the port of Jacksonville will now be routed via port Everglades, located 330 miles down the Atlantic coast in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, reported American Shipper.
