A-E rate up 0.2pc to US$812/TEU, USWC off 7.3pc to $1,368/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday increased 0.2 per cent to US$812 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean rates increased 4.4 per cent to $1,017 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The SCFI fell 7.2 per cent on the Shanghai-US west coast leg to $1,368 per FEU while China-US east coast rates fell 4.6 per cent to $2,543 per FEU.
