Asia-Europe rates dip 4.5pc to US$757/TEU, USWC soars 25.6pc to $1,615/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell a further 4.5 per cent to US$757 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean rates dipped 7.6 per cent to $895 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The SCFI recorded a massive 25.6 per cent leap on the Shanghai-US west coast leg to $1,615 per FEU while China-US east coast also saw an impressive 10.5 per cent hike to $2,691 per FEU, reports UK's The Loadstar.
