Development of terminal 3 to start at Iran's Shahid Rajaee port

IRAN's President Hassan Rouhani is to break ground on the phase three development of Shahid Rajaee Port, the nation's largest container port located at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz in the south.
"The contractor of container terminal number three of Shahid Rajaee Port has been chosen lately and its construction will begin in days," the head of Ports and Maritime Organisation Mohammad Rastad, reported Tehran's Financial Tribune.
Upon the completion of the terminal within three years, the port's capacity will rise to eight million TEU, the official said. The plan calls for the investment of US$222 million to improve the infrastructure of the port, ILNA reported.
