Asia-Europe soars 19pc to US$707/TEU, USWC up 17pc to $1,588/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday soared 19 per cent to US$707 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates were stable at $710 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index(SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai-US west coast also shot up 17 per cent to $1,588 per FEU while China-US east coast increased eight per cent to $2,604 per FEU.
