Asia-Europe rates slip 2.9pc to US$708/TEU, USWC plunge 11.8pc at $1,351/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday slipped 2.9 per cent to US$708 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates were down by 2.1pc at $706 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast plummeted 11.8pc at $1,351 per FEU while China-US east coast fell by 6.8 per cent to $2,398 per FEU.
