    Kansas City airport's air cargo traffic drops 5.9pc in March

    KANSAS City International Airport (KCI) saw air cargo volumes, comprising both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers decline by 5.9 per cent in March to a total of 17.5 million pounds.

    Year to date, 50.3 million pounds of air freight were handled, representing a decrease of 1.7 per cent, according to figures provided by the city's Aviation Department.

    Airfreight handled at KCI during March amounted to 17.1 million pounds, a drop of 5.3 per cent year on year. Year to date, airfreight is down 1.1 per cent to a total of 48.7 million pounds, reported Aviation Pros online.

    Airmail for March plummeted by 24.6 per cent compared to the same month a year earlier to 480,838 pounds. Airmail is down 16.8 per cent year to date with 1.7 million pounds handled.
