Halifax container traffic slightly down in 2018

Containerised cargo volume through the Port of Halifax last year "remains consistent" with 2017, according to theHalifax Port Authority with total throughput at 547,445 TEU compared to a total of 559,242 TEU in 2017 - a decline of 2.1 per cent.
Containerised throughput for the fourth quarter of 2018 was 130,200 TEU, compared to 140,299 TEU during the same quarter in 2017 - a 7.2 per cent decline in the number of boxes in the fourth quarter, the Halifax Chronicle Herald reported.
