Asia-Europe rates dip 4.5pc to US$1,010/TEU, USWC up 1.2pc at $1,562/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday edged down by 4.5 per cent to US$1,010 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates held firm at $1,180 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast ticked up 1.2 per cent to $1,562 per FEU while China-US east coast put on 1.9 per cent to $2,943 per FEU.
