Asia-Europe off 3.6pc to US$797/TEU, USWC falls 3.8pc to $1,549/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 3.6 per cent to US$797 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates edged down 1.2 per cent at $892 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast fell 3.8 per cent to $1,549 per FEU while China-US east coast fell 4.4 per cent to $2,785 per FEU.
