Asia-Europe falls 0.4pc to US$827/TEU, USWC jumps 18.3pc to $1,610/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending last Friday fell 0.4 per cent to US$827 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates edged down 1.3 per cent at $903 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast jumped 18.3 per cent to $1,610 per FEU while China-US east coast increased 8.3 per cent to $2,912 per FEU.
