Asia-Europe rates down 1.8pc to US$750 per TEU, USWC surge 9.7pc at $1,662/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending last Friday declined 1.8 per cent to US$750 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates edged down 1.9 per cent at $863 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast increased 9.7 per cent to $1,662 per FEU while China-US east coast edged up slightly to $2,782 per FEU.
