MSC to apply US$200/FEU rate hike from US Gulf ports to Far East June 15

THE Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) will impose a general rate increase of US$180 per TEU and a $200 per FEU on dry cargo from US Gulf ports of Houston, Mobile and New Orleans to Asia and Southeast Asia from June 15.
Said MSC: "Steamship lines are once again challenged to maintain service profitability since freight rates are at levels that are no longer sustainable. In order to maintain such a service, we are forced to announce these rate increases.
