Canadian Pacific to issue US$500 million in Notes to cut debt

CANADIAN Pacific Railway Company is issuing US$500 million of 4.000 per cent Notes due in 2028 by closing on May 16 to reduce and refinance outstanding debts and for general corporate purposes.
Until utilised for such purposes, the net proceeds may be invested in short-term investment grade securities or bank deposits, the company announced.
The joint book-running managers of the debt offering are Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and Wells Fargo Securities.
The offering is being made pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
