Air France-KLM buys 31pc of Virgin Atlantic, Delta has 49pc

AIR FRANCE-KLM is to acquire a 31 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic, for EUR20 million (US$23.5 million) with Virgin Group retaining a 20 per cent stake and chairmanship of Virgin Atlantic, while Delta will retain its present 49 per cent holding.
A joint venture agreement has been signed by Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic have signed on expanding their existing transatlantic co-operation.
The accord establishes the working relationship as well as the commercial and operational terms of the expanded JV, reports London's Air Cargo News.
Air France-KLM, Delta and Virgin Atlantic said that they will now co-ordinate efforts to secure the regulatory approvals required for the new arrangements.
According to a statement from the carriers, the expanded JV will offer the most comprehensive route network across the Atlantic
