Asia-Europe up 1.9pc to US$920/TEU, USWC off 4.7pc at $2,783/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending last Friday edged up 1.9 per cent to US$920 per TEU.
For Mediterranean ports, rates fell 2 per cent to $951 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast fell 4.7 per cent to $2,783 per FEU while China-US east coast fell 4.7 per cent to $3,297 FEU.
