East Coast South America boxes drop 39pc - worse since 2008

EAST coast of South America container imports fell 39 per cent in June of 2020 compared to the same period last year, according to DataLiner data.
"We haven't seen such a low volume since July 2009, when we were still recovering from the 2008 global financial crisis," says Datamar CEO Andrew Lorimer. "These figures reflect the impact the Covid-19 pandemic is causing in the world economy," he said.
DatamarNews is based in Bedano, Switzerland, 80 kilometres north of Milan.
