CMA CGM levies rate hike peak season surcharge in August

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a Peak Season Surcharge of US$150 per TEU from August 1, but not beyond August 31.
An additional rate hike, termed a rate restoration will become effective August 8. The surcharge will apply to an origin range including all Asian ports encompassing Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh to a destination range encompassing all northern European ports including the UK and the full range from Portugal to Finland/Estonia).
Additionally, CMA CGM also announced an August 15 rate increase of $200 per TEU on dry, reefer, OOG cargo bound for Kenya and Tanzania from China, Taiwan, South Korea, South East Asia, East Coast of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, but not Japan.
