Asia-Europe rate up 4pc to US$825/TEU, dips 1.9pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose four per cent to US$825 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 6.7 per cent to $848 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast declined 1.9 per cent to $1,283 per FEU while those to the east coast off 2.6 per cent to $2,271 per FEU.
