Asia-Europe slip 1.2pc to US$896/TEU, USWC off 3.2pc at $2,704 FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending last Friday declined 1.2 per cent to US$896 per TEU.
For Mediterranean ports, rates fell marginally by 0.3 per cent to $937 per TEU, according to Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast fell 3.2 per cent to $2,704 per FEU while China-US east coast slumped 4.7 per cent to $3,297 per FEU.
