CMA CGM levies US$200/TEU Asia-E Africa rate hike August 15

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM is to implement a rate restoration programme mid-August on its Asia to East Africa trade.
Effective August 15, (B/L date), the general rate restoration (GRR) for all types of cargo (dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) transported from Asia including China, Taiwan, South Korea, South East Asia, East Coast of India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka (Japan excluded) to all ports in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique will be US$200 per TEU.
