Asia-Europe rate rises 6.2pc to US$876/TEU, jumps 12.6pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 6.2 per cent to US$876 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 5.5 per cent to $895 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast jumped 12.6 per cent to $1,445 per FEU while those to the east coast were up 8.5 per cent to $2,463 per FEU.
