A-E rate up 1.2pc to US$1,042/TEU, USWC up 3.2pc to $3,758/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 1.2 per cent to US$1,042 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates rose two per cent at $1,082 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast rose 3.2 per cent to $3,758 per FEU while rates to the east coast increased 7.8 per cent to $4,538 per FEU.
