Asia-Europe rates up 1pc to US$937 per TEU, USWC increase $34 at record $3,440/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending last Friday edged up slightly by 1.0 per cent to US$937 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates rose 2.3 per cent at $996 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast rose $34 per FEU to a record $3,440 per FEU while China-US east coast increased by $41 per FEU to $3,951 per FEU.
