Shanghai's box volume hits 40 million TEU for 4 years running

CONTAINER volume for Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) has already surpassed 40 million TEU in 2020 for the fourth consecutive year, say port authorities.
Despite the outbreak of the Covid crisis, Shanghai port maintained fast growth in container throughput and accelerated its development of intelligent port systems.
On July 39, the port handled a container volume of 149,565 TEU, representing a record single-day high.
The automated terminal at Yangshan port made a significant contribution on cargo handling and helped the port to strengthen its position as the world's busiest container port.
