A-E rate up 1.1pc to US$1,054/TEU, USWC off 3.2pc to $3,813/FEU

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 1.1 per cent to US$1,054 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates rose 3.04 per cent at $1,115 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast rose 3.2 per cent to $3,813 per FEU while rates to the east coast decreased 0.08 per cent to $4,534 per FEU.
