INCHEON International Airport Corp (IIAC) is looking to extend its airport operation activities to Poland and Czech Republic.

The move comes after the Incheon Airport operator won a bid recently to operate Kuwait's new Terminal 4 in a deal valued at KRW140 billion (US$128 million), marking its biggest overseas contract to date, reported The Korea Herald.

IIAC CEO Chung Il-young has just returned from a visit to the Warsaw Chopin Airport in Poland and the Vaclav Havel Airport Prague in the Czech Republic to promote the IIAC' s airport development and operations know-how to local government officials in the two countries.

Poland is currently pushing to develop a new airport by 2027 to boost capacity while the Czech Republic plans to invest KRW1.4 trillion by 2020 to expand its second domestic terminal and add a new runway, according to the IIAC.

In Poland, the IIAC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Prague International Airport Corp to carry out joint research on smart airport implementation and identifying solutions to deal with increasing air cargo.
