CMA CGM levies US$20/TEU empty box imbalance surcharge

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a US$200 per TEU empty equipment imbalance surcharge from April 1 from the Angolan ports of Lobito and Namibe.
The surcharge only applies to 20-foot TEUs until April 15 to the US and its territories, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Uruguay, Paraguay and Venezuela.
