KARGO Xpress is leasing two 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) from Gecas Cargo, reports London's Air Cargo News.

The first aircraft is set to be delivered to the carrier in October, followed by a second one in December.

The added capacity from the Gecas-leased aircraft will enable the carrier to provide a fast and efficient delivery of goods as it expands to include Northern China and Western India.

"Kargo Xpress appreciates the close working relationship with Gecas to induct our initial two 737-800 BCFs," said M Jets International managing director Gunasekar Mariappan.

"We are focused on developing a robust, reliable, cost-effective network within Asia, centred on a fleet of 737 freighters. Our goal is to be the provider of choice for express e-commerce shipments, as well as point-to-point delivery, transshipment, and flight-truck services for our time-to-market sensitive customers within Asia," said Mr Mariappan.

Said Gecas Cargo vice president Richard Greener: "Thanks to its versatility, efficiency, and reliability, the 737-800BCF is well suited to Kargo Xpress' planned growth strategy. At Gecas Cargo, we are pleased to support Kargo Xpress as they look to develop more routes and expand their operations."
