Box ship loses 20 empties overboard in Bay of Biscay

THE 1638-TEU Baltic Fulmar has reported a loss of seven empty containers overboard in the Bay of Biscay south of Brest to the regional operational centre CROSS Corsen, France, Atlantic, reports Kiev's Maritime Bulletin, which specialises in marine casualties.
Losses occurred in heavy weather in the early morning while en route from Dunkirk to Bilbao, Spain. The Cypriot-flagged ship continued on its voyage. The area was under aerial surveillance; all ships in the vicinity were warned.
