Asia-Europe rate down 2.2pc to US$863/TEU, falls 4.1pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 2.2 per cent to US$863 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade fell two per cent to $869 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast declined 4.1 per cent to $1,616 per FEU while those to the east coast down 2.2 per cent to $2,650 per FEU.
