A CONTAINER fell during a hoist from a crane in Taipei port while discharging the 12,000-TEU Ever Forever, reports Beijing's Container-News.
The accident is believed to be caused by crane operator mishandling of the crane, reports of the Maritime Bulletin, that specialises in marine casualties.
The Taiwanese-owned Ever Forever arrived from the US and has since left Taipei and sailed across the Taiwan Strait to the Port of Xiamen.
The Panamanian flagged 12,076-dwt ship is owned and managed by Taiwan's Evergreen Marine.
