Psi Air eyes Philippines-US flights

PHILIPPINES-BASED cargo airline Psi Air has applied for a foreign air carrier permit and exemption from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to carry operations between the Philippines and the US, reports London's Air Cargo News.
"Psi Air, a foreign air carrier of the Republic of the Philippines, hereby applies for exemption authority and a foreign air carrier permit authorizing it to conduct scheduled and charter air transportation of persons, property and mail from any point or points behind Philippines, via any point or points in Philippines and intermediate points, to any point of points in the United States and beyond," said the application document.
The document declared that Psi Air holds an interest in Jett Cargo LLC, which markets dedicated wide-body and narrow body cargo aircraft capacity.
It also stated that Psi Air is currently discussing potential codeshare, interline and wet lease arrangements with US and foreign carriers.
According to the document, Psi Air has cooperative working relationships with EFL Freight covering Sri Lanka, China and USA; and AAI Worldwide Logistics covering Malaysia, China, Thailand and Hong Kong.
Psi plans to operate daily widebody freighter service between Manila (MNL) and/or Clark International Airport (CRK) and Chicago, Illinois (ORD) and between Manila (MNL) and/or Clark International (CRK) and Ontario, California (ONT).
