Maersk offers container protection for imports into Central America

A DAMAGE claim reduction from Maersk called "Container Protect Essential" will take effect March 15 to shipments into El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras, the company announced.
The scheme covers container repair and cleaning costs up to US$150. It is applicable to all import shipments to these countries.
Shippers can also upgrade to Container Protect Unlimited that provides unlimited coverage for container damage and cleaning costs, across all commodities.
For non-spot bookings the effective date is from March 15 for price calculation date (PCD). For spot bookings is also March 15 for booking creation date (BCD).
