ICTSI's Basra Gateway reaches 4 million-TEU milestone

BASRA Gateway Terminal (BGT), which is operated by International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) at the Port of Umm Qasr in Iraq, has reached a significant milestone of handling four million TEU, reports Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide.
This achievement comes after nine years of operation at the busiest port in the country.
The record-breaking volume was attained during the recent unloading operation carried out on the vessel YM Mutuality, operated by Yang Ming.
BGT stands as the sole terminal in Iraq to have successfully managed four million TEU, solidifying its position as a critical player in the region's maritime industry.
"We are thrilled to achieve this significant milestone, which is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our team, who have consistently delivered exceptional service to our customers," said BGT chief executive officer Romeo Salvador.
