THE troubled Singapore-flagged 5,028-TEU Shiling has departed Wellington after being detained in New Zealand for three months due to numerous breakdowns that raised safety concerns, reported Fort Lauderdale's Maritime Executive.
Maritime New Zealand announced that the troubled boxship that in recent months had become a source of concern due to recurring engine malfunctions was cleared to depart for Singapore after undergoing repairs and trials designed to ensure it would not break down again.
She is currently expected to reach Singapore on July 24.
