Asia-Europe rate rises 3.3pc to US$959/TEU, up 1.9pc to USW

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 3.3 per cent to US$959 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 0.7 per cent to $915 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast grew 1.9 per cent to $2,126 per FEU while those to the east coast edged up 0.4 per cent to $3,329 per FEU.
