Cathay Cargo orders six freighters, eyes twenty more

CATHAY Cargo has placed an order for six Airbus A350F freighters, scheduled for delivery commencing in 2027, and retains the option to acquire an additional twenty in the future, reports Manila's PortCalls.
"This order marks another major component in our investment for the future. It reflects Cathay's confidence in the Hong Kong hub as we look ahead to the opportunities provided by the Three-Runway System," said Cathay Group CEO Ronald Lam.
"These highly fuel-efficient, next-generation freighters will provide important additional cargo capacity, expand our global network, and contribute to our sustainability leadership goals."
Mr Lam stated that the upcoming A350F freighters will be crucial in connecting Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland to vital destinations in North and South America and Europe.
With this purchase agreement, Cathay Group's new aircraft deliveries now total 77.
