DP World sets '23 record in Peru lifting 1.64 million TEU

DUBAI's global port operator DP World, set a new record by handling 1.64 million TEU at the South Pier at its Port of Callao terminal in 2023, reports San Francisco's Business Wire.
This marks an 11 per cent increase in annual container volume over 2022, underscoring DP World's role as the key operator of the South Pier.

"Moving this record-breaking number of TEU during 2023 represents an important milestone for DP World and for the Peruvian economy," said DP World country manager Nicolas Gauthier.
"2023's record TEU movement is unprecedented in Peruvian history. Our success stems from significantly increasing the number of ship arrivals, up 36 per cent, and a more than 40 per cent boost in terminal productivity since 2021," he said.
