Mauritius will permit a cruise ship that belongs to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (abbreviated as the NCLH.N) to dock since zero traces of cholera were found in the samples gathered from guests on board, per a senior health official on Monday.

Authorities off the coast of East Africa, on the island nation, disallowed the Norwegian Dawn to dock over the weekend over what they mentioned to be significant “health risks” without sharing any further information.

Samples were collected from nearly 15 guests experiencing mild stomach illnesses. Bhooshun Ori, the DG of health services with the health ministry, told the reporters that the samples were analyzed at a local lab and didn’t contain cholera. The vessel has over 2,000 guests and 1,000 crew members.

Mauritius’ tourism authorities and the port authority are working on a strategy for guests to disembark and new cruise guests to board. Those who are leaving will be thoroughly screened by sanitary officers and given access to medical aid if needed.
