FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has notified its customers that starting December 1 that a rate restoration initiative (RRI) will be applied to shipments from the West Coast of South America to the US East Coast and US Gulf, covering all types of cargo.

The rate adjustment will be set at US$250 per container, according to Greece's Container News.

CMA CGM also informed its customers that, effective December 1, 2024, an RRI will apply to shipments from the South America West Coast & Central America East Coast to St John, Canada, for all types of cargo. The rate adjustment will be set at $100 per container.
